Year 4 at MLC

Studies have shown that early entry into private education can lead to higher academic achievement and enhanced emotional wellbeing. In Year 4 at MLC, our girls are inspired to take agency of their own learning, to set the foundation for a lifelong journey of curiosity and knowledge. Personal growth is encouraged, through enriching experiences such as an Outdoor and Environmental Education camp, and leadership programs like Girl Power. Wellbeing is a priority, with support available for parents to ensure that together, we create a nurturing environment where each girl feels empowered to explore her potential.

Empowerment in an all-girls’ environment

Studies have found that girls learning in an all-girls’ educational environment have significantly higher levels of self-esteem and academic achievement, setting a strong foundation for future success. At MLC, our girls have the freedom to explore their potential without the constraints of gender stereotypes, empowering them to pursue their unique passions, embrace leadership positions and take agency of their own learning.

Fostering a love of learning

In Year 4, we provide a rigorous curriculum which builds on strong foundations in numeracy and literacy. Each girl is inspired to take agency of her own learning, through presentations, poetry and initiatives such as Stretchy Thinking and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). Our dedicated teachers cater to individual learning styles and needs, ensuring a personalised approach and regular feedback to boost student engagement and performance. We encourage our girls to embrace challenges, learn from mistakes, and develop a love of learning which will set the foundation for a lifelong journey of curiosity, exploration, and knowledge.

Personal growth through unique experiences

In Year 4 at MLC, our girls experience personal growth through enriching activities like an Outdoor and Environmental Education camp, empowering them to build confidence and resilience. Participation in interschool sports encourages a healthy sense of competition and a strong team spirit. Relationships are explored through programs like Girl Power, which enables our girls to set strategies to develop a positive mindset and forge true friendships.

Wellbeing as a priority

At MLC, we recognise the importance of mental health and wellbeing in your daughter’s education journey and have integrated age-appropriate support and strategies into our curriculum. Our Year 4 girls have access to on-site counselling services, and peer support and mentorship programs to ensure help is always available when needed. We believe parental involvement is essential to a child’s wellbeing and offer support for parents, to help you better understand your daughter’s emotional and mental health. Together, we create a nurturing environment where wellbeing is prioritised, and each girl feels she truly belongs.
