MUSIC TEACHER AND ARCHON
I love being able to see our girls explore music from different cultures. I teach Balinese Gamelan to Years 7 and 8 students and it’s wonderful to watch how they approach these instruments as they are so different from what they have experienced before.
One of my favourite moments from my time here would be conducting the Wind Orchestra for my Year 12 Bass Trombone student at Concerto Night. I have been her teacher in some capacity for four years at MLC and it was very special to be a part of her performance. Another highlight for me is supporting our Year 9 students as they produce music videos each year. They arrange and record a song in our professional recording studio then film and edit their video. I love seeing the audience response when we show these at our concerts.
Fun facts: Sarah is a self-published author and her music workbooks are used by Years 7–12 students in schools across the state. She also loves long distance running and has run four marathons!
