Private Pre-Kindergarten in Perth

Private Pre-Kindergarten in Perth

Our Pre-Kindy welcomes boys and girls from three years of age across Perth and is the perfect introduction to our Kindy program. From our passionate and experienced Early Learning Centre (ELC) team to our close relationship with the rest of MLC, there are many benefits of being on the large MLC campus for our Pre-Kindergarten children.

Smaller Class Sizes

With a degree qualified early childhood teacher in each of our two Pre-Kindergarten classrooms Kep (‘water’ in Noongar) and Karla (‘fire’ in Noongar) there is a mixed ratio of one to five and one to eight staff to students.

Research shows that young children require dedicated attention, education and care. That is why at MLC, we ensure smaller class sizes across our entire Early Learning Centre, so our children gain individualised experiences, enhanced classroom participation and improved academic performance.

An Extension of the Early Learning Framework

Our Pre-Kindergarten program follows the Early Years Learning Framework (ELYF). Belonging, being and becoming are the underpinning values of the ELYF, which aligns with MLC’s overarching Vision, Mission and Values.

Combining our early literacy and numeracy programs with sensory play that focuses on investigation and exploration, our three-year-olds are prepared for a lifetime of learning both in school and beyond.

Our location on the wider MLC campus in Perth, as part of the beautiful suburb of Claremont, allows our Pre-Kindergarten to provide opportunities for venturing over to the Junior School with timetabled Music lessons once a week. These lessons are facilitated by the incredible MLC Music Department and are the perfect segway into the Junior Years Music curriculum. Some of the other fantastic opportunities available at our Pre-Kindy in Perth are:

  • Mandarin lessons, which provide a great introduction to Junior Years Chinese if the children choose to continue at MLC
  • MLC’s very own Bush and River School program, which takes them to the Swan River within walking distance of our campus
  • Nap time and relaxation
  • Regular trips to the Junior Years Library and other parts of the wider MLC campus
  • Incursions like Mini Beasts (bugs and insects) and Under the Ocean (sea life) to ignite their curiosity
  • An intergenerational program with St Louis Retirement Village, which promotes meaningful connections and understanding across generations

We would love to welcome you and your family to our ELC—a nurturing, play-based environment where curiosity is encouraged, individuality is celebrated and foundations for lifelong learning are laid. Whether you are just starting to explore your options or are ready to take the next step, we are here to help. Fill out the form below to express your interest and we will be in touch to answer your questions, share more about our programs or arrange a personalised tour.

Immunisation Requirements

Western Australia has immunisation laws that help to better protect our children and the wider community from vaccine-preventable diseases. In line with the WA Government regulations, when you enrol your child in our Early Learning Centre or Kindergarten, you will need to provide your child’s current Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement, which shows your child is up-to-date with all the scheduled immunisations (according to the National Immunisation Program) for their age. This Statement must be no more than two months old. Without an up-to-date immunisation status or an exemption, children cannot be enrolled in our Early Learning Centre or Kindergarten. If you would like to know more about the immunisation requirements, obtaining an AIR Immunisation History Statement or how to access immunisation services go to HealthyWA.

I understand, as per WA's Health Department regulations, that my child needs to be fully immunised to be enrolled at MLC Early Learning.
