MLC champion named Western Australian of the Year

MLC Foundation Ambassador David Flanagan has been named the Western Australian of the Year.

The mining entrepreneur started up Atlas Mining 10 years ago, which is now a top 100 ASX-listed company.

As well as being a champion for philanthropy at MLC, Mr Flanagan is a tireless worker for charities and Aboriginal organisations. He is the Chancellor of Murdoch University and is on the board of Giving West.

Mr Flanagan's daughter attends MLC and his wife, Sarah, is a Collegian.
