Sports Administrator in the Physical Education Department
I gain such a sense of satisfaction when I see the girls learn and grow in their various sports. Working in the Physical Education team allows me the flexibility to do the hands-on part of teaching and coaching, in particular working with the junior students, while also being able to complete the administrative component of my role.
I didn’t have a clear direction after I left school, but I knew I wanted to work with people in the sporting industry. I saw an advert for an AFL Sports Ready position, which would allow me to obtain my Certificates 3 and 4 in Sports and Recreation Management while working in a school environment. I thought this would be a good steppingstone into the world of full-time work, but I’ve never left, so I clearly love my job here! It’s now my eighth year at MLC and there have been many highlights during that time, but one of my favourites would have to be travelling to New Zealand and Fiji alongside the girls for this year’s Sports Tour.
