Head of Kindergarten–Year 6 Wellbeing and Year 5 Teacher
I am currently in my 34th year of teaching at MLC. My primary role is providing pastoral care for all Kindergarten–Year 6 students. This can involve working directly with the students, providing support to teachers to deal with matters within the classroom, or meeting parents to discuss any concerns. Our Pastoral Care Board also meets every two weeks to take a more global look at the pastoral care of our students. However, teaching is still my first love and the interactions I have with students are always the highlights of my day! Sharing their learning and personal experiences keeps you on your toes but also provides many humorous anecdotes along the way. Another highlight for me is that I now regularly teach the daughters of students I taught at MLC many years ago.
On a personal note: I am a keen follower of AFL, having played at WAFL level for Subiaco in the 1980s and captained the side in the early 1990s.
