Health and Physical Education teacher and Archon
When I was at school, I had some amazing teachers who were passionate, caring and inspiring. I felt from a young age that I wanted to follow in their footsteps and become a Physical Education teacher. I have been involved in sport from a very young age and my parents always told me to follow my dreams and follow my passion. I now have my Master in Education from Sydney University.
I went to boarding school in Ireland and was brought up playing sport in the cold and wet, so I really enjoy now living and working in an amazing country like Australia. I represented my County in Hockey when I was younger, and I received my Gold Duke of Edinburgh when I was at school.
I work in a supportive team at MLC and get such enjoyment out of coming to work every day. The best part of my job is seeing girls of all different ages and abilities giving sport a go, and the fun and laughter we experience together on and off the field. I also love being a Mentor and hearing wonderful stories from the girls and helping them on their MLC journey.
There have been many happy moments during my time at MLC, but one highlight was being part of the Volleyball Tour to Melbourne in 2016. It was such an enjoyable tour and, as Team Manager, I learnt a great deal about Volleyball, was able to watch some amazing games and spend time with a wonderful group of enthusiastic girls. The memories I have will stay with me for a lifetime.
