MLC Foundation Community Scholarship

On Thursday 22 June 2023, the MLC Foundation will hold its third online Giving Day to raise funds for the MLC Foundation Community Scholarship. This community funded needs-based scholarship is offered to a girl who through financial or social disadvantage would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend the College. Applications are open now until 11.59pm Thursday 29 June 2023.

What is a Community Scholarship?

As this is a Community Scholarship, we are seeking a resilient all-rounder who contributes in a meaningful way to her community and is ready to participate fully in MLC life. The scholarship will be awarded in late 2023 for a Year 7 student to commence in Term 1, 2024. It offers 100% remission from tuition fees and agreed on-costs from Years 7-12. We’re looking for the following attributes in all candidates:

  • Approaches life with vigour
  • Involved in her community
  • Embraces and models the values and ethos of MLC
  • Committed to community service learning
  • Has a respectable academic record
  • Participates in co-curricular activities

She should be living in the Perth region or Western Australia. Please note that Boarding accommodation is not included in the costs.

To apply for the MLC Foundation Community Scholarship please download, complete and return the Application Form, Financial Profile Form and Statutory Declaration below. The application must also include:

  1. The applicant’s Birth Certificate, or if born overseas, the applicant’s citizenship papers or permanent residency.
  2. A handwritten letter from the student to the Principal which outlines why she would like to attend MLC and how she demonstrates College values in day-to-day life.
  3. A report, video or voice recording from the applicant introducing herself and sharing her passions, interests and aspirations.
  4. Two letters of recommendation.
  5. The applicant’s two most recent school reports.
  6. The applicant’s NAPLAN results.

Please ensure that the application is received by Sunday 2 July 2023. Late or incomplete applications may not be accepted, so please allow ample postage time.
