Our main intake years are Pre-Primary, Year 5 and Year 7, and, subject to availability, Year 10.

Are the registration and confirmation fee refundable?
Neither the registration nor confirming fee is refundable.
Once you have paid the confirming fee your daughter is guaranteed a place at MLC in the year for which you have applied. If you change your year of entry, we may not be able to guarantee that your daughter will be offered a place according to your new preference.
The confirming fee is a separate cost to your tuition fees.
How far in advance should I apply for a place for my daughter at MLC?
We must receive a copy of your daughter's birth certificate before we can accept your application.
Many parents register with us very soon after the birth of their daughter. However, we encourage you to register at any time if you would like your daughter to attend MLC.
How do you allocate places at MLC?
Our selection criteria are established to reflect the ethos of our College. Girls who benefit from a MLC education are those who are best able to embrace the academic programmes we offer, who demonstrate a willingness to participate in the full range of activities we offer, and whose families understand and are supportive of the College Vision, Mission and Values.
We prioritise applications from siblings of current students of the College; daughters of Collegians; boarding families; daughters of Uniting Church Ministers; daughters of staff; and according to date of application.
For your best chance at securing a position at MLC, priority will be given based on the date of your enrolment; however, all applicants transferring from overseas or interstate are encouraged to contact Admissions to detail their circumstances.
Will my daughter have to take an entrance exam to secure a place at MLC?
No, MLC is not an academically selective school.

Can I come to look around the school?
Yes, we encourage you to join us at one of our Open Days, take a personalised tour, or, for future students, become an MLC girl for a day. Find out more about these opportunities.
What happens if I decline an offer for my daughter?
If you decide to decline your offer, your daughter can remain on the waiting list for the next intake year. She will maintain her original application date.
Do I need to fill out a separate application for each of my daughters?
Yes. We require individual information about each of your daughters.
Where is my child on the waitlist?
Due to the changing nature of waitlists, we do not advise of your daughter's position on the waitlist at any given point in time.
Does my child need to be immunised to enrol?
Western Australia now has immunisation laws that will help to better protect our children and the wider community from vaccine-preventable diseases.
When you enrol your child in our Early Learning Centre or Kindergarten you will need to provide your child’s current Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement, which shows your child is ‘up-to-date’ with all the scheduled immunisations (according to the National Immunisation Program) for their age. This Statement must be no more than two months old.
Without an up to date immunisation history or an exemption, children cannot be enrolled at Methodist Ladies' College.
