What is a Bequest?
A bequest is a specific gift left in your Will that allots part of your estate to a particular beneficiary whether that is an individual or an organisation. A bequest to the MLC Foundation of Methodist Ladies' College is an enduring gift that makes a difference beyond your lifetime.
Making a Will ensures that the people and the causes that are important to you are recognised in the manner you would wish. Many people choose to remember events in their life that have been meaningful to them, such as their School, in the form of a bequest.
MLC can help you plan a bequest that best fits you. A bequest can be specified for the benefit of the school in general, providing discretionary funds that the College can then allocate to high priority areas and needs. Alternatively you may wish to direct your gift to a specific purpose that is meaningful to them such as the Scholarship program.
When considering Methodist Ladies' College in your Will, it is recommended you seek independent legal advice. A bequest to MLC is an enduring gift that makes a difference beyond your lifetime. You will be contributing to the future learning of young women and ensuring MLC is the best school for girls.
