2007 MLC Leavers accomplish an impressive legacy

Methodist Ladies' College (MLC) graduating students have excelled across a wide range of subjects in the 2007 Tertiary Entrance Examinations, as well as the INSTEP Program.

Every member of the Class of 2007 achieved the Western Australian Certificate of Education, with students excelling in both academic and vocational streams.

The graduating girls are now able to take full advantage of the broad range of options available to them beyond school to achieve their potential and continue life-long learning.

The encouragement and support they received during their school years has given them the confidence to be active and responsible contributors to society.

2007 Dux Fion Lau received a General Exhibition from the Curriculum Council as one of the top 40 students with the highest scores.

Subject Exhibitions awarded to the top exam mark in each subject were received by Emma Clowes for Media Production and Analysis, Kate Beresford for Modelling with Mathematics, Michelle Stephenson for Senior Science and Fiona Wang for Music.

Sixteen students were awarded Certificates of Distinction for subjects including Applicable Mathematics, English and English Literature, Economics, Biology and Human Biology, Senior Science, Political and Legal Studies and Media Production and Analysis.

Fifteen students were awarded Certificates of Excellence for obtaining at least 10 'A' grades in Curriculum Council or VET subjects in Years 11 and 12.

The consistent performance of MLC students in recent years was consolidated with 15 MLC students achieving a TER of 99 or above, and 58.5 of students accomplishing a TER of higher than 90.

The median TER score for MLC students was 89.25.

While TEE students excelled, so too did students undertaking nationally recognised units of competence in their chosen fields. These students undertook some of their learning with a Private Training Provider through the INSTEP Program.
