College Structure
Methodist Ladies College caters for girls from Kindergarten to Year 12, providing each year group with age-appropriate educational and co-curricular opportunities and activities.
Junior School classes, from Kindergarten to Year 6, are located in Barclay House on Corry Lynn Road. The classrooms are places where the girls apply skills, strategies and knowledge to learning situations through exploration, inquiry and real life contexts.
Middle School students from Years 7 to 9 are situated in the new purpose-built Middle School facility on the cliff-top which incorporates classrooms, recreational areas for each Year group, a Dance and Drama auditorium and staff offices. During the transition from primary to secondary education, young adolescents have to adjust to different ways of learning, different structures and expectations, organisational skills, a bigger environment as well as coping with their changing identity.
Courses in Senior School, Years 10, 11 and 12, prepare students for a broad range of post-school options. The Head of Year oversee each Year group and are concerned with the overall welfare of each student. Tutors meet regularly with their group and area ble to support and assist Senior School students.
Tutors meet with their group on a regular basis and are available to support and assist individual students. Year level meetings are held in Hadley Hall. The Form Captain is selected by the Tutorial Group and assists the Tutor with the organisation of the group. Concerns regarding students' social or academic welfare should be directed to their Tutor and Head of Year.
