School Performance Report 2008
Commonwealth legislation requires all independent schools to publish to families 'school performance' data on an annual basis. The objective of this initiative by the Commonwealth Government is to increase accountability and transparency of information published by schools so that families can make informed decisions when choosing or comparing schools. This is the final year for this model of School Performance Report as we move into the next funding quadrennium and a new model of reporting in 2009.
The data that is required to be published is from our 2008 College year and includes:
· Academic Results
· Student and Staff daily attendance
· Staff Professional Development and Qualifications
During 2008, growth in our Junior School brought an increase in classes at the Pre-Primary and Year 3 levels. Our Middle Years Programme extended into Year 8 just as new facilities were being developed for Years 7-9 on the river side. NAPLAN testing revealed outstanding benchmark achievement in literacy and numeracy across Years 3, 5, 7 & 9. Senior School students continued our fine tradition of outstanding TEE results. On behalf of the College community, I would like to thank the MLC Teaching and Operational staff for their dedication and hard work, the College Council for their support and governance of the College and the parents for their supportive partnership in the education of their daughters.
Yours sincerely
