Principal Rebecca Cody
Principal Rebecca Cody commenced at the College in September 2009 following an impressive five-year term of leadership at Woodford House, one of New Zealand's most prestigious girls' schools. With a record of outstanding success in leadership roles in schools in Australasia, Ms Cody brought her wealth of experience to lead MLC to continued success as the 'school of choice for girls'.
Selected from an extremely strong field of applicants, Ms Cody's appointment was the outcome of a rigorous and exhaustive international recruitment and selection process. She holds a Bachelor of Education with First Class Honours and is a member of numerous Australasian educational associations. Owing to her considerable teaching experience and success in school leadership roles throughout her career in education, Ms Cody has developed a thorough understanding of the way schools work.
As a graduate of an independent girls' school and committed advocate of single-sex education, she embraces the role of Principal at MLC and its associated responsibilities with the drive and vision that girls deserve.
Remaining focused on raising student achievements and supporting girls' wellbeing, thereby strengthening the College's standing as a preeminent school in Australia, are priorities for Ms Cody, and her philosophy of education seeks to ensure that holistic opportunities are provided for all girls to reach their potential within a safe environment. In order to realise this, she provides leadership that is transparent, motivating and collegial.
Western Australia is home for Ms Cody and her family; a place to educate her son, enjoy her passions and create wonderful memories.
She looks forward to engaging with current and future MLC families and establishing beneficial relationships that will positively shape and inspire the future of the College.
