Hadley Hall

MLC's Performing Arts Centre, Hadley Hall, was built in 1991 and houses the auditorium and Music Department. With tiered seating for 750, its modern facilities include state-of-the-art technology, enabling students and professional groups to realise truly professional results.

The concert stage is sprung to accommodate performances ranging from a small quartet to a ballet and full symphony orchestra. It provides an ideal venue for the formal College assembly and official College events and its computerised projection system and super screen enable teachers to show educational videos and give Powerpoint demonstrations with ease. The auditorium is air-conditioned for year-round comfort.

Theatre Arts students use Hadley Hall as a drama performance venue. Their courses include everything from lighting and sound design, stage craft, and set design for the wide variety of performances held on stage. The back stage facilities include a green room and change room with a capacity of 60 people.

As home to the Music Department, Hadley Hall provides two classrooms, 11 tutor rooms, a music library, instrument store and staff room.

More than 400 music students use the Music Department for instrumental tuition every week. The immediate access to the concert stage enables music students to experience a professional performance standard on a daily basis. A full range of music instruments is available to music students, including a concert grand piano.

Hadley Hall is named after a former principal, Dr Geoffrey Hadley.
