Community Support Association
The Community Support Association (CSA) seeks to promote a spirit of friendship and cooperation in the College community. It is an active and enthusiastic support group making a difference to all girls at MLC. It organises a system of coordinators at each Year level in the College. The Year Coordinators assist class teachers - organising help with excursions etc - and arranging informal social functions offering parents the opportunity to meet other MLC families with daughters in the same Year level.
The CSA organises a number of social/fundraising functions throughout the year. The proceeds of fundraising are directed to projects that are regarded as being of direct benefit to the students at the College. It provides assistance at College functions when and where required. It also runs the second-hand book exchange at the end of each year. The CSA financially supports the College through the provision of the Year 9 CSA Citizenship Scholarship, gifts to all Year 12 students, Speech Night prizes and various items as requested by the College.
In addition, a volunteer register of parents is compiled to provide general support to the College community, as well as assisting in the Café.
The Parent Support System, which is designed to provide an evening meal for MLC families who are experiencing a personal crisis such as a bereavement, is also organised by the Community Support Association in liaison with the Deputy Principal/Head of Senior School of the College.
Meetings are generally held on Thursdays of each month at 8.45am in the College Meeting Room. Dates are published in the College Calendar and everyone is welcome to attend. The Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday 5 March.
