Class of 1957
While the school has been celebrating its Centenary this year, the Class of 1957 recently gathered to celebrate their own special 50th Year Reunion. Several ladies travelled from country areas, including a surprise visit from the 1957 Head Girl Joan Gosbell (Harris) who flew in from Queensland.
Twenty-one ladies enjoyed a delicious lunch at the College. Many friendships were renewed and firm plans made to meet on a regular basis in the future. All were delighted with the Centenary gift from the Collegians of the magnificent sculpture by Owen Davies. It is a skilful and joyous representation of past and present students.
It is also interesting to note that the year of 1957 reached an important milestone as the first class to complete the period 1953 to 1957 (Years 8 to 12) during the term of MLC Principal Walter Shepherd. - Rosemary Mostyn & Diane Bowyer
